ISO & Integrated Management System

NEDC's five-standard ISO certification framework. Certified 28 November 2025 by Equal Assurance Pty Ltd (JAS-ANZ accredited).

Five certifications. One integrated system. ISO is sustained through consistent institutional conduct at every level of the Commission.

ISO 9001:2015 - Quality Management Systems

Ensures NEDC's processes consistently deliver quality services through defined procedures, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement. All directorate activities must be documented, measured, and reviewed.

ISO 14001:2015 - Environmental Management System

Requires NEDC to identify and manage environmental impacts of all operations and projects. Environmental objectives must be set, tracked, and reported. Project approvals must include documented environmental considerations.

ISO 45001:2018 - Occupational Health & Safety Management

Requires systematic hazard identification, risk assessment, and controls across all operations and project sites. Near-misses and incidents must be documented and investigated. Safety is a structured, audited system — not a reminder.

ISO 37001:2016 - Anti-Bribery Management System

Verified systems to prevent, detect, and respond to bribery and corruption. Requires documented policy, due diligence on associates, conflict of interest declarations, a protected speak-up channel, and mandatory staff training.

ISO 37101:2016 - Management Systems for Sustainable Development in Communities

NEDC's development projects must demonstrate long-term community resilience outcomes — not just delivery metrics. Social inclusion, economic sustainability, and governance quality are formal design considerations. Projects must contribute measurable sustainable development impact across the six North East states.
